Start Dictating in Seconds
Once Whisp is installed, you can start dictating text into any application. Here's how:
Step 1: Position Your Cursor
Click where you want your text to appear. This can be any text field in any application—Word, Slack, your browser, email, anything.
Step 2: Activate Whisp
Press the default hotkey to start dictating:
- Windows:
Ctrl + Shift + Space - Mac:
⌘ + Shift + Space
You'll see a small indicator appear showing Whisp is listening.
Step 3: Speak Naturally
Just talk! Speak at your normal pace and Whisp will transcribe your words in real-time. Don't worry about pausing—Whisp handles natural speech patterns.
Step 4: Stop Dictating
Press the hotkey again or click the Whisp indicator to stop. Your text will be automatically inserted where your cursor was.
Pro Tips
- Say punctuation out loud: "Hello comma how are you question mark"
- Use "new line" or "new paragraph" for formatting
- Whisp automatically capitalizes sentences
