Good microphone setup is key to accurate transcription. Follow these tips for the best results.
Selecting Your Microphone
- Open Whisp Settings (click the gear icon)
- Go to the "Audio" tab
- Select your preferred microphone from the dropdown
- Speak to test—you should see the audio level indicator move
Positioning
- Keep your microphone 6-12 inches from your mouth
- Position it slightly to the side to avoid plosives (hard "p" and "b" sounds)
- Use a pop filter if available
Environment
- Choose a quiet room when possible
- Close windows to reduce outside noise
- Consider using a headset in noisy environments
